In this article, we will look at how you can turn off or on Offload Unused Apps feature on iPhones. Offload Unused Apps is a feature in iOS that helps users to save storage. This feature deletes unused apps from your phone without deleting any personal data or customizations. This is a very useful feature if you have many apps installed on your device that you don’t use often.

Although this is a very useful feature it is sometimes annoying especially when you enable this feature for iOS to do this operation automatically. Many people do not want this because anytime an app is offloaded, you need to download it again from the cloud. This gets frustrating especially when you have no or unstable internet connection.

To know that an app is offloaded, you will see a small cloud icon attached to the app icon. Whenever you tap on the app, it will download the app for you to continue to use it normally. This won’t delete any of your data or settings on the app.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom and toggle off the Offload Unused Apps option.

If you have a single app or selected apps that you want to manually offload, then follow the steps below.

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Go to General and tap on it.
  3. Tap on iPhone Storage.
  4. Scroll down to the Offload Unused Apps sections and tap on the app you want to offload.
  5. Then tap on the Offload App button.

How to Reinstall Offloaded Apps on iOS

It is very easy to reinstall an offloaded app on your iPhone. There are two ways you can do this; this is by tapping on the app icon to reinstall or by following the steps below.

  1. Go to settings.
  2. Tap on General.
  3. Tap on iPhone Storage.
  4. Scroll down to the Offload Unused Apps section and look for the Offloaded app.
  5. Tap on the app.
  6. Tap on the Reinstall button.
