Sharing Is Caring!

In this post, I will provide you with the best answer to the question, of how to change the Thumbnail on TikTok videos. Before we move to the main subject, let us know what a Thumbnail is.

Thumbnail is the still image that represents a video when you are viewing it from your Gallery. This definition is what we think suits our subject here.

Whenever you open the profile of a TikTok user on the app, you may see a frame from the video. Normally TikTok picks the first frame of the video to represent the video.

You may ask why not display the full-length video? Representing the videos with thumbnails makes saves you some data and phone resources. Thumbnails are very lightweight as compared to the video and being on someone’s profile doesn’t mean you can watch all the videos there at the same time, this may distract you. This makes it better to choose something lighter to represent the video to save you internet data and phone resources like memory, GPU, and others.

How to Change the Thumbnail on TikTok Videos

It is very easy to choose your own thumbnail from the frames in the video and add some texts when uploading your videos for the first time but not possible to change the thumbnail of already uploaded videos, unlike on YouTube where can change your Thumbnail all the time.

Also, remember you can only use a frame in your video as your thumbnail and you can not have a separate thumbnail and upload as you do on YouTube.
